Träger und Partner

The Collegium Oecumenicum is an institution of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria (ELKB). For the regional church, the Collegium Oecumenicum is an important hub of its ecumenical work with churches around the world.

An important cooperation partner of the Collegium Oecumenicum is the Evangelische Waisenhausverein München e.V., which was the sponsor of the Collegium Oecumenicum until June 2016. The Evangelische Waisenhausverein was founded as a non-profit association in 1872, and works in the field of youth welfare, with the disabled and student support.

The Collegium has a close relationship with the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, especially with the Faculty of Protestant Theology, from whose ranks the Ephorus of the Collegium is appointed. There is also good cooperation with the Catholic Theological Faculty, the Orthodox educational institution of the LMU, and the Munich School of Philosophy.

For many years, the Collegium Oecumenicum has relationships with theological universities in the USA, Brazil and Romania. Partners here are the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, the Lutheran Theologcial Seminary in Philadelphia, the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, the Escola Superior de Teologia Sao Leopoldo, and the Faculty of Protestant Theology in Hermannstadt (Sibiu). As of fall 2012, the Collegium Oecumenicum is involved in the student exchange with Emory University/Candler School of Theology in Atlanta.
