Vision

The Collegium Oecumenicum is an international Christian students community. Here, foreign and German students of theology and other faculties live in an ecumenical living and learning community. We see ourselves as part of the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ according to the understanding of the Lutheran Confession, and work closely with the Protestant Theological Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Our Goal

As residents of the Collegium Oecumenicum, we want to live together in Christian community, share our faith, expand our knowledge of our own and other confessions, and learn to live together as diverse people from different cultures. In this way we want to enrich our churches and help promote their unity in reconciled diversity.

ON THE WAY TO THIS GOAL…

we respect each other, we cultivate a common spiritual life with devotions and services, we engage in a theologically based understanding of the Holy Scriptures, the ecclesiastical tradition, and the religious, political, social, and cultural practices of our world, we take our responsibility for a more equitable coexistence of people into account, and we reaffirm our faith in the spirit of ecumenism.

WHILE MOVING FORWARD WE WANT TO…

deepen our own confessional and cultural identity, be open to and understand the faith and culture of others, accept others as others, and live together in solidarity despite all denominational and cultural differences.
